Phi Iota Alpha Raises $6,087.80 in 31 Days for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF
New York – December 2012
Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is proud to announce the results of the Phi Iota Alpha Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign. Throughout the month of October, our chapters, colonies and alumni around the nation worked together to raise awareness and funds through our UNICEF partnership to end the needless suffering of children and peers around the globe.
This marks our third consecutive year in participating in the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign. Last year we had set a goal of raising $3,000 and we surpassed our goal. We are in a constant state of improvement and striving for excellence so we set out to improve our numbers. To do so we raised our goal to $5,000 and we are proud to announce that we exceeded it by more than $1,000 making the final number $6,087.80. As an organization, for the entire time of our partnership we have been able to raise $32,288.23.
Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. executive director Francisco ‘Pancho' Lugo stated, "I am very pleased with the progress we have made with our partnership with UNICEF. This comes at a time when we are starting the transition into our new venture within our partnership with UNICEF and focus on three different campaigns which include the UNICEF Tap Project, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, and now our dedicated site which funds go directly to Latino America.”
We thank you for your continued support and we look forward to building a brighter world one small step at a time. For more details about UNICEF, please visit http://www.unicefusa.org/.

UNICEF has saved more children's lives than any other humanitarian organization in the world. Working in more than 150 countries, UNICEF provides children with health care, clean water, nutrition, education, emergency relief, and more. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF supports UNICEF's work through fundraising, advocacy, and education in the United States.
UNICEF is at the forefront of efforts to reduce child mortality worldwide. There has been substantial progress: the annual number of under-five deaths dropped from 13 million in 1990 to 8.8 million in 2008. But still, 22,000 children die each day from preventable causes. Our mission is to do whatever it takes to make that number zero by giving children the essentials for a safe and healthy childhood. For more information, visit www.unicefusa.org.
