Phi Iota Alpha Appoints New Executive Director

New York, New York - July 2010

The Board of Trustees is proud to announce Phi Iota Alpha’s new Executive Director, Bro. Francisco "Pancho" Lugo. Bro. Lugo has served the fraternity as Director of Undergraduate Affairs for the past three years. Francisco pledged in the Spring 2003 at the University of Dayton and has served the fraternity in a number of roles since, including Midwest Province Governor and Regional Director.

Francisco holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Communication and a Master of Science in Education in College Student Personnel from the University of Dayton. Francisco currently works as Assistant Director of Student Activities for Student Programs at the University of Texas at San Antonio.  Bro. Lugo will assume the role of Executive Director immediately after the Dallas Convention 2010.

The Board of Trustees would like to thank our current Executive Director, Bro. Jason "Promesa" Nicolau for his undying energy and passion over the past three years.  Jason has overseen this organization’s financial stabilization and member growth.  With his stewardship and his dedicated team, the organization has expanded to new campuses such as LSU, AASU, FSU and the University of Arkansas.  During his tenure the fraternity has improved our marketing and presence online, rolled out a new web platform, streamlined our organizational structure, and offered brothers new benefits such as the Phiota credit card.

Bro. Nicolau plans to continue his involvement with Phi Iota Alpha at the Board of Trustee level, if elected by the general membership.  The Trustees strongly endorse his candidacy and, once again extend the fraternity’s gratitude for his dedication and tireless work.
