Phiota named video host of the NY International Latino Film Festival

New York, New York -  July 2010

Oscar "Ajeno" Martinez (Spring 2006 Psi Chapter) has been selected to be the Video host of the New York International Latino Film Festival

Oscar graduated in 2009 with a degree in Marketing from Long Island University's CW Post campus.

Along with his co-host Jessica Molina, Oscar will be working the red carpet in New York's Chelsea neighborhood interviewing celebrities from films featured at the festival. Oscar will also cover exclusive events and his work will be featured on multiple media platforms related to the festival.

Oscar is no stranger to the media spotlight. He played the main character in the video for Aloe Blacc's single I Need A Dollar from the forthcoming album Good Things. I Need A Dollar is the theme song to the HBO series How to Make it in America

Launched in 1999, the New York International Latino Film Festival (NYILFF) is now the premier Urban Latino film event in the country. The NYILFF's mission is to showcase the works of the hottest emerging Latino filmmaking talent in the U.S. and Latin America, offer expansive images of the Latino experience, and celebrate the diversity and spirit of the Latino community. Programming includes the flagship film festival in NYC, new music and art showcases, family and community events, scholarships for aspiring filmmakers, and a nationally recognized short film competition in partnership with HBO.

"NYILFF is proud to provide the best platform for filmmakers, sponsors and audiences alike," said Elizabeth Gardner, executive director of the New York International Latino Film Festival. "After ten years, they know that our festival offers top-notch venues, staff, promotions, industry events, parties and media impressions surrounding their films and events. NYILFF is still the best investment in the Hispanic/Urban space."

The New York International Latino Film Festival runs from Tuesday July 27 through Sunday, August 1
