Phi Iota Alpha is a top online fundraiser for UNICEF
Today, Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is proud to announce success in our fundraising goals for the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign. Throughout the month of October our chapters, colonies and alumni through out the nation worked together to raise funds through the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign, now celebrating it's 60th year.
Not only did we surpass our internal fundraising goals, but 4 out of the 10 top online fundraisers for UNICEF were Chapters of Phi Iota Alpha:
Alpha Gamma Chapter
Alpha Iota Chapter
Each of the winners will receive a bundle of Trick-or- Treat for UNICEF goodies including a sweatshirt, an umbrella, a vintage collectible lunchbox, a drawstring bag and a certificate of achievement.
In addition the Kappa chapter of Phi Iota Alpha along with Syracuse chapter of UNICEF will be hosting The First Annual Snowflake Ball. Taking inspiration from the original snowflake balls originating in New York City and Beverly Hills, CA, UNICEF hosts the Snowflake Balls to celebrate the lighting of the UNICEF Snowflakes and to honor those whose philanthropic commitments support its mission to save children’s lives.
All donations collected through the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign and the Snowflake Ball will go towards the UNICEF USA Fund which works around the world where there is the most need. This means donations collected will go to help:
Children with HIV/ AIDS
Children suffering from bacteria born diseases
Children who lack clean water and basic education and many more worthy projects which save children’s lives everyday
We thank you for your continued support and we look forward to building a brighter world one small step at a time.
If you would like to learn how you can help you can, please send us an email via our contact form or contact your local Phi Iota Alpha representative for more information on ways you can help our fundraising efforts.
UNICEF has saved more children's lives than any other humanitarian organization in the world. Working in more than 150 countries, UNICEF provides children with health care, clean water, nutrition, education, emergency relief, and more. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF supports UNICEF's work through fundraising, advocacy, and education in the United States.
UNICEF is at the forefront of efforts to reduce child mortality worldwide. There has been substantial progress: the annual number of under-five deaths dropped from 13 million in 1990 to 8.8 million in 2008. But still, 22,000 children die each day from preventable causes. Our mission is to do whatever it takes to make that number zero by giving children the essentials for a safe and healthy childhood. For more information, visit www.unicefusa.org.
