New York - February 2012

Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the Phiota Leadership Fund are pleased to announce they will be awarding two (2) full scholarships valued at $450 each to active undergraduate members of a NALFO organization to attend the 2012 Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI). This institute is seen as the premier leadership development experience for fraternity and sorority members.  A total of 11 five-day sessions of UIFI will be offered in the summer of 2012. Each of the sessions is held at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.  The institute features experiential learning and hands-on activities, an opportunity to meet fellow Greeks from all 50 states and Canada, and curriculum that teaches you how to lead with courage and integrity.

"Having facilitated two UIFI sessions in the past four years I have seen the importance of adding a different voice to the conversations which take place during the five-day sessions.”said, Francisco Lugo Executive Director of Phi Iota Alpha. According to Lugo "our goal is to be able to provide at least six scholarships by 2014 to active NALFO undergraduate members.”

Only two UIFI Scholarships will be awarded to NALFO undergraduate members, which will cover all of the institute expenses, minus travel.  If chosen, participants will be responsible for their own travel to/from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana (50 minutes south of Indianapolis).

UIFI is the premier leadership development experience for fraternity and sorority members, and is an experience unlike any other. It is not a conference. It is not a workshop. It is a uniquely holistic journey that you share with other interfraternal brothers and sisters. A UIFI graduate not only learns important leadership lessons, but also reaches deep insides him/herself to find their true fraternal calling. He or she is changed forever.
