Each year we come together during our National Convention to recognize those individuals, chapters and colonies within our brotherhood who have successfully exemplified high standards of leadership, scholarship, service, and philanthropy. In 2014, a brother and chapter or colony will be recognized for outstanding achievement in each of the following categories:

Individual Awards

 

Alumnus of the Year

In recognition of an alumnus who has distinguished professional achievement, distinguished leadership, service to Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc., service to the community and loyalty to the ideals of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Management Team Member of the Year (Alumni)

In recognition of an alumnus who has demonstrated their commitment to the organization through their service in leadership positions in the organization.

Undergraduate of the Year

In recognition of an undergraduate member who has demonstrated excellence in the following categories:

  • Academic Achievement
    • 3.0 cumulative GPA or above
  • Leadership Excellence
  • Community Service
  • Commitment to the Latino Greek Community

Advisor of the Year

In recognition of a college/university professional who supports the standards of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. through their professional accomplishments a chapter/colony advisor.

Group Awards

Philanthropic Excellence - Undergraduate Chapter/Colony 

In recognition of an Undergraduate Chapter which has successfully integrated philanthropy as part of their annual programming and events.

Chapter/Colony of the Year

In recognition of an undergraduate chapter/colony who has demonstrated excellence in the following categories:

  • Academic Achievement
    • 2.5 Chapter Cumulative GPA or above
  • Leadership Excellence
  • Community Service
  • Chapter Integrity
  • Commitment to the Latino Fraternity & Sorority Community

Guidelines for Submissions 

  1. Complete one (1) nomination form per award nominee. For example, if nominating two individuals, you will need to submit two nomination forms with supporting documents.
  2. All nominations and applications must be unique from other applications. One application cannot be submitted for multiple awards. Any duplicate applications will not be considered.
  3. All nominations letters must be no more than 2 pages, single spaced, and 12 size font - Times New Roman.
  4. Deadline to submit applications is Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 11:59 EST.
